Three crew. Four days. One overnight edit that had to be on screen by breakfast.

Core Studios sent a three-person crew to Hayman Island in the Whitsundays to cover SentinelOne's customer conference, presentations, testimonials, the island itself, and a highlight film that had to land before the next day started.

The Crew

Alex de Souza, Senior Photographer. Leo Lacrose, Lead Videographer. Jaden Eades, Videographer. Sydney to Brisbane to Hamilton Island, then the ferry across with the SentinelOne team.

The Brief

Up to 700 event photos. Five customer testimonials, three cameras on each, one static wide, one static close, one handheld. A 60-second compilation of day two. A two-to-three minute reel of the full event.

The Overnight Turnaround

The compilation carried a deadline the rest of the shoot didn't: 8 am the following morning, in the room, in front of the people it was filmed on.

Jaden broke off from the crew at 6 pm on day two and cut through the night while the conference kept running. The file was delivered before the first session of day three. Then it played to the room.

What It Took

Three Sony A7SIII bodies, a stills kit, gimbals, tripods, a softbox, an Amaran 300C, an Amaran T4C and a drone. Sunrise at 6:36 am. Sunset at 5:45 pm. In between: keynote b-roll, morning tea, the sunset cruise, and the island from the air.

Confidential sessions meant shooting around screens and slides all week. The story had to come from faces, rooms and light.

Why It Matters

Fast doesn't have to mean rough. Film with the deadline in mind, cut with intent, and a room full of people watch their own day played back before it's finished.
